Obituary of Mrs Mary Jane Warder of Missouri
Mrs Mary Jane Warder died Saturday morning December 16 at 8 o'clock at her son Leary Warder’s home four miles west of Lexington. Born February 1821 in Tennessee she moved to Missouri as a child with Rev William Whine’s family. Widowed since about 183? when Rev Joseph Warder died. A Primitive Baptist member for nearly seventy years, she was cherished by many. Survived by sons Henry Warder J W Warder and Mrs W A Mitchell and daughter Mrs Belle Hall. Funeral services by Rev T W Howell Sunday at 11 a.m.

Death of Mrs Swearingen After Pneumonia Stroke at Brelsford Home
Mrs Anon Swearingen died Saturday afternoon at 4 70 o clock at the Brelsford home after a stroke of paralysis nine days after a pneumonia illness. Born August 29 1820 in Lexington she lived there before the war and also resided in Leavenworth Kansas. She was married twice first to William Long and then to T J Swearingen who died eleven years ago. Survived by her children and described as conscientious and sociable. Funeral held Tuesday December 19 at the M F church South at 10 30 with interment in Machpelah cemetery. Jessie Rex left for Oakdale California Friday to spend the winter with her daughter.

The 61st Football Banquet Celebrates 1905 Victory
The 61st annual football banquet honored the 1905 winning team defeating Kemper at Sedalia on Thanksgiving Day and earning the Southwestern preparatory schools title. About 175 plates were set in the Academy hall decorated in red and white with bunting. Courses included blue points olives pickles celery and roast turkey among others. Speakers Capp H. M Peak John K. Taubman Cadet Lieutenant Lemon Miss Eliett Todhunter Miss Carry Field and Cadet Captain Amery praised the team and presented emblems to the squad with the Academy monogram. The ceremony closed with the announcement of the Reserve Force cadets who offered themselves as sacrifices on the beam.

Elderly Mr. Rogers Dies at Home in Waco Texas
Died at his Waco home Wednesday morning about 1 o clock B. Rogers aged 75 had been critically ill for ten days. His daughter Mrs. Sandford Sellers was summoned last Thursday. He leaves a wife two daughters and a son Mrs. King of Little Rock Arkansas Mrs. Sellers of Lexington and Robt H Rogers of Waco.

Death of Mrs Walker in Win Minneapolis Minnesota
Mrs Walker aged 68 died at her home in Win Minneapolis Minnesota on December 13. She was born in Lexington in 1837 and was married before the Civil War to Mr Walker. She was the sister of Mrs B A Bokle and daughter of the late James Cloudsley. Her residence in Minnesota followed her marriage.

Rural carriers learn Christmas trips only on Christmas day
The rural carriers will make regular runs on Christmas day but not on New Year’s Day. The notice comes at the request of carrier G P Warres, his wife and baby, who have been visiting Frank Stewart’s family. They went to Aullville Thursday night to spend the holidays.
