Ryland Groves Wedding At The Bride's Home
The wedding of John Reid Ryland and Viola M Groves at the bride’s home near the city drew wide interest from Lafayette county and Missouri families. The couple, from prominent pioneer lineages, were joined by a ceremony featuring white and green decor, carnations, smilax, a Mendelssohn procession, and a program of vocal and instrumental pieces performed by local and visiting musicians. The reception followed with a luncheon and cake, and about 150 guests attended this celebrated union featuring the families Groves and Ryland, with many connections to local business and state leadership.
