Stephen White, long time farmer and pioneer citizen of the county, died November 30 in Odessa aged nearly 88. Interment was held at Greenton cemetery beside his wife, who passed away about five years ago.

Vranke versus Cordes appeals land commission case outcome
In the circuit court an appeal from a Justice of the Peace Court in the case of Henry W. Vranke versus John Cordes involving ayeno’s land site commission ended with a verdict for the plaintiff totaling 180 dollars. Clarence Vivian led for the plaintiff and Charles Lyons for the defense. The Barton case motion to require a bond for costs was overruled. In the Olreah Court, Lone Baldridge versus the Prater Nal League to collect on a mother’s insurance policy issued a verdict for 257 dollars including policy face value and interest, with Wm. H. Chiles for the plaintiff and William Aull for the defendant. In the Circuit Court on Tuesday the case of John A. Woertermeyer versus Jenny L. Williams on note ended with a verdict for the defendant.

Mica Eden Grinstead of Norborne, a piano and voice graduate, helped in voice teaching last year and visited during the recital. The college recital by music pupils drew a good crowd.
