In Dover area, William Neinhauser, a German farmer, killed himself with a breech loading shotgun in a shed on his farm. An infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. P. Blackwell died after her dress ignited while burning trash. Neinhauser’s act appeared premeditated. his wife and community mourn his loss and little Jessie Blackwell’s death.

The remains of Mrs Loulka Brags who died in Kansas City were shipped to Lexington Wednesday night and taken to the home of her son Charles Bruns in O Town. A German native aged 77, she left two sons Henry and Charles Bruns in Lafayette county. Funeral services were held Thursday at 2 pm conducted by Rev Hardmueller. Circuit Court.
Dr Wharton led non sectarian evangelistic services in Lexington uniting nearly all area churches. Converts carried cards for church preference and ministers organized the turnout. The event resulted in the Main Street tabernacle and a formal thanks to the pastor before his departure to Louisville.
The Lafayette county democratic central committee met November 30 in Higginsville. Dr W C Croadwin was elected to fill a vacancy from Clay township after L F Benning resigned. The group selected Charles R Creasy as a recommended member for the Lafayette county seat on the district committee. They opposed a state primary to pick a caucus US senator nominee and scheduled precinct meetings for March 1902 to elect county committee members. Miss Charlotte Aiken and her sister Louise visited Mrs Bert Taubman in Kansas City.
