Lafayette County Fair at Higginsville draws crowds
The Lafayette County Fair grew busy in the latter part of the week as crowds returned with a cold wave. Attendees enjoyed racing, daily ball games lost by Higginsville, refreshment stands, music by Hiner’s band, farm products displays, and home cooking. The fair was orderly with little rowdyism and featured social visits across towns, plus local notices of residents’ travels and community events.

Monday afternoon from four to six thirty Miss Atha Dewies hosted a porch party at her North Seventeenth Street home honoring Miss Lola Britton of Harrisonville Missouri.
