Mob Hangs Salyers and Gates Near Edenview Church
At two o'clock Tuesday morning a mob took Charles Salyers and Harry Gates from the county jail and hanged them from a tree near Edenview church, after storming the jail with chisels and breaking a door. The crowd, masked and organized, dispersed after the executions, with both men defending themselves to the end and accusing the other of the murder.
