Dick Stalling Shot Dead While Hunting Near Mayview
Dick Stalling was killed by an accidental shotgun discharge while hunting at Davis Creek, eight miles southeast of Mayview. The 16 gauge hammerless Winchester fired as he passed through brush. others found him about twenty minutes later. He was born February 1 1881 in Oldenburg Germany and had run Stalling's Bakery and a West Main shoe store before returning to Lexington. He is survived by his step-mother four sisters and three brothers. A separate notice reports the death of Mrs Ernest Sipe on Southwest Boulevard after a long tuberculosis illness.

Col William H Hoge has accepted a professorship at Culver Military Academy in Culver Indiana and will move with his family in September to settle in for the opening September 20. He came here twelve years ago from Kemper Military School Boonville Missouri and bought a half interest in Wentworth where he taught and managed until last school year ended.
