The Unique Wedding event staged Thursday at Murrell Auditorium by Lexington Central College Club raised 275.10 in net proceeds. Funds will redeem stock of the College Park Association, with hoped full redemption by June 1. Credit goes to Mrs. Olivia Price, Mrs. H. C. Ardinger, and Mrs. John Sturgis for their tireless work. all participants enjoyed the frolic and were well repaid.

Welfare program planned for first week in May
Representatives from various organizations met at the Chamber of Commerce last Wednesday to plan the program and appoint committees. Mrs. John Poage was named general chairman with Dr. C. T. Ryland as program chairman and Herbert Mayer as property chairman. Mrs. N. B. Baskett heads exhibits. May 3 4 and 5 are set for lectures to be announced later. Mrs. Mayfield of Kansas City, office manager of the National Public Welfare League, met the welfare board at the Red Cross rooms Friday afternoon.

Federal Officers Take Two Lexington Men to Kansas City
Walter McFadden and Homer Vardis were taken to Kansas City last Thursday by federal authorities to answer charges of violating the Volstead act. They were arraigned before U. S. Commissioner George D. Beardsley. Vardis pleaded not guilty to selling whiskey, waived preliminary hearing, and posted 1000 dollars bond for appearance before the grand jury. Fadden was charged with possessing a section containing more than half of one percent of alcohol, pleaded not guilty, waived preliminary hearing, and posted 500 dollars bond.
