Fire at Judge McCausland home injures, damages wing
Sunday blaze caused by a defective flue left the northwest wing of Judge W G McCausland’s house uninhabitable with fire and water damage. Mrs McCausland and Miss Florence Arnold were inside yet unaware. Neighbors mistook smoke for a pump house or locomotives. Firefighters quickly contained the fire, moved valuables, and insured property still stands. Meanwhile Wentworth and Kemper clash in a heated baseball doubleheader on campus with Kemper winning first game 6 to 4 and Wentworth seeking revenge in the afternoon.
