Pig causes wreck on B & O line near Staunton
The Baltimore and Ohio noon train struck a live pig several miles north of Staunton. The engine pilot was demolished and the fireman escaped with his life. The pilot was twisted and broken, nearly derailing the train. The wreck forced the train to stop while broken pieces were removed.

Frances Willard Memorial Services Held in Lexington
Frances Willard memorial services were held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. L. L. Wilson on Taylor Street last Thursday evening from eight to eleven. The Lexington Woman's Christian Temperance Union organized the event with vocal and instrumental music recitations and a life of Miss Willard address by Rev. William S. Hammond. A free will offering supported the work and refreshments were served after the program. Lexington Presbytery will meet in Staunton next Tuesday to act on the resignation of Dr. G. A. Wilson of New Providence church to pursue home mission work.
