Supervisors Pass on Road Petitions in County Meeting

The Board of Supervisors spent most of Monday’s Courthouse session considering road petitions. J. W. Moore and others were named to meet June 15 to discuss changes near Rockbridge Baths and along the Augusta county line. Crews plan inspections, with several road modifications and closures proposed in the area. A severe storm later damaged Staunton, tearing roofs and glass and disabling utilities in a narrow corridor. Mayor Jos H. Cutchin of Roanoke was found guilty of malfeasance but will stay in office while awaiting a higher court ruling amid public calls for resignation.
