Odd nugget of gold found in Australian mine

A 1887 report describes a bizarre 12 1/2 inch long gold hand shaped nugget found at the Midhas mine on Sulky gully near Melbourne. Weighing 51 pounds of pure gold with minimal impurities it was located 120 feet underground near the northwest main drive, 50 feet from where the Lady Brassey nugget was found. The piece was almost a complete open hand with a closed thumb and forefinger, and the find is detailed as an extraordinary curiosit.
