Accident on Peck Grade Prepares for Carnival

A Peck Idaho report describes a fall on Central Ridge Grade near Wing residence. Dr Fairley suffered a bruised shoulder a scraped arm and a rapid pulse. Team and wagon escaped with minor damage. Free mail delivery begins June first in Lewiston

Postmaster J. E. Chapman nominates Orville Livensparger and George P. Sullivan as deliverymen with Charles Grimstead as substitute. Residents must put street and number on letters to receive mail. Delivery boxes will be placed at multiple intersections including Eighteenth and Main, Fifteenth and G, Thirteenth and, Idaho and Adams, Ninth and Main, Fifth and Main, Fourth and Main, Second and C, Sixth Ave and Sixth St, in front of the post office, Snake River avenue opposite O R N dock, First Ave and Third St, Fourth Ave and Sixth St, and Seventh Ave and Sixth St.

Kamiah Adopts Road Bond Plan Amid Ballot Nominees

Kamiah residents initially planned a celebration but later redirected a two hundred dollar appropriation to benefit the Lolo road between Kamiah and Pierce City. A Monday mass meeting confirmed this top priority as petitions for city offices closed with three names on the ballot for mayor treasurer and alderman posts.

Judd Carpenter Dies After Lung Bleeding At Home

Judd Carpenter died Wednesday evening at his parents home on east Main street following a severe coughing spell that caused a hemorrhage of the lungs. Physicians could not stop the blood loss as he gradually declined. He was a young man well known and respected in Lewiston.

Crop Outlook in Nez Perce County Report

Idaho weather bureau notes standstill in crops across state last week. Nez Perce County reports early week rain and snow, grain up and healthy, fruit trees in bloom, gardens nearly finished, peas onions lettuce thriving. West and Russell describe frost and freezing temperatures damaging fruit. Southwick notes cold slows vegetation with cherries prunes badly injured.

Training School Closes After Department Shutdown

The training department of the Normal school closed Monday. Mrs. S. B. Hawes plans to teach at a Hailey summer institute after leaving the district. She will visit her husband and daughter in Boise en route.
