Irrigation deal seals transfer for Lake Waha water rights

The Lewiston Waha Land Water and Power Co signs to acquire 25000 acres around Lake Waha. Senators Dubois and Heitfeld lead the syndicate with Chicago capitalists backing a plan to store flood waters, irrigate 20000 to 25000 acres, and develop a transit and power system. Construction slated by July with a 1 million dollar land and ditch investment and a lake based irrigation network.

Jury Disagrees in Campbell Case and Other Trials

After 22 hours the Campbell burglary trial jury failed to reach a verdict and was discharged. Closest ballots split 6 to 6, with three acquittal converts. Other proceedings included quieting title suit by James Hayes and siblings, two divorces granted, and various criminal and civil actions noted. Delegates to the Grand Lodge of Modern Woodmen arrive for statewide sessions in Aberdeen, with a long list of attendees and travel arrangements.

Summit Lenore tramway survey shifts project site

Edson Briggs and his corps returned from Lenore where they surveyed the new Summit Lenore tramway location. The line, built by local farmers near Gifford, costs about 15000 dollars, spans 11350 feet, and will use double wire with chilled steel carriers and clutches to prevent detachment. Senator Louis Clark is president and B F Basher is secretary and manager.
