Mrs. F. B. Sears shows rapid recovery after a skin grafting operation in Spokane. Dr C. P. Thomas led four associates in transferring about 800 square inches of cuticle from thighs and legs of H. P. Knight of Wallace and Lovejoy of Spokane to Mrs Sears burned limbs. Knight is Mrs Sears brother, Lovejoy an old family friend. Several Spokane Elks offered skin but not needed.

Battle over free textbooks in Idaho legislature
Boise March 27 The American Book Company defended its interests as two bills collided. House bill 76 sought a six year extension of contracts and a new text book commission every six years to select a uniform free series, but died in the senate. The state stands without new contracts as all current ones expire next September. Attorney General Guheen to decide if districts must pay for books after this year.

Distribution of Harriman interests Northern Securities securities will yield funds to the system treasury enough to build about 2000 miles of railroad with full equipment. The $82,600,000 deposited by Harriman interests is to be returned in a form matching shares of Northern Pacific, Great Northern and related stocks. Will Form New Reserve Amid Pine Lands Withdrawal
