Pneumatic paint machine showcased for court house job

John Ponting arrived from California with a pneumatic paint machine tested by A. E. Elliott at the courthouse. The device, powered by air, sprays paint and, with two operators, replaces twelve men. A sample will be shown to the supervising architect to decide between machine and hand painting. The method hailed for economy and quality, first used at Chicago’s World Fair. The Idaho supreme court northern district term opens April 7 at Lewiston with 15 cases docketed, including Lewiston city damages of 12,000 and Deeds vs Stephens where Miss Stephens seeks a ten year lease starting 1902 and potential Grand Hotel possession if she wins.

State Wagon Road Bonds and Local Moves

State treasurer has paid 9000 of 1889 wagon road bonds leaving 3000 outstanding of a 50000 issue used to build the Meadows to Mt. Idaho road. Bonds were held by Albany City Savings Co. A Grangeville to Thunder Mountain highway route. Joseph Kauffman of Morrow visiting. He plans to move to Lewiston, join W R Wyatt in a Main Street grocery and feed store. Kauffman departs today to finalize family move. An evangelistic meeting at Lewiston Christian church continues with many new members, led by L F Stephens whose sermons impress. Mrs Stephens praised for songs. Meetings extend through next week.

Light Week in District Court Plays Minor Roles

This week in the district court was light due to Attor ney Needham’s illness with most work tied to taxing cost bills. The court heard a Universalist church petition to sell real estate and ruled lack of jurisdiction under an repealed statute. Two divorces granted: Viola Bush and Howard Bush by desertion, and Lizzie Olson and Ole J Olson separated after nonresponse. The First National Bank of Lewiston vs. Samuel Markham entered default. Next week features eight cases, including several bank suits and a medical law constitutionality argument with Attorney-General Martin present. A busy docket expected to follow.

Dowd Brothers to Develop Water Supply at Tammany Wells

Dowd Brothers plan work next week to develop the water supply at the Tammany wells. Matt Dowd visited Walla Walla to study municipal efforts there and bring back ideas for their project. Charles Dowd headed to organize a crew, noting Walla Walla’s gravel workings and comparing the two sites.

Religious Services in Upper Tasmany Church Preacher

The Hon. John McDonald of Lewiala will preach at the upper Tammany M church next Sunday morning at 1 00. Thomipeon and Fair exhibit a Lewiston picture showing a view from the north hillside above the Ci ferry with improvements in the hill district clearly depicted. The Mark Means Transfer Co reported a carload of Cudahay's bacon and lard and a carload of lows moved today as local freight along a Clearwater short line.
