Timbering Accident Near St Marys River

Two men, McCray and Campbell, cut timber near the St Marys river. A tree split as it fell in deep snow, injuring Campbell severely with a broken back. McCray suffered left arm and rib injuries with bone exposed. Campbell reportedly alive and cared for. McCray moved to Spokane for medical aid. In a separate incident a bootlegger attempted to hide whiskey in a depot water closet, prompting a swift police chase. an Indian man was struck but not identified.
