Blaze Gutts Main Street Restaurant and Nearby Buildings
A fire yesterday at about 7 30 in a Main Street restaurant near the Lewiston foundry gut the eatery completely. Smoke and water damaged adjoining properties including the White Front stables and the Pacific Saloon Building. Fire departments saved the stables and lodging house. owner Geo H Adams suffered total loss. Losses totaled several hundred dollars to multiple properties with various insurances listed. The Pacific saloon and related structures sustained about 500 dollar to 2 000 dollar insurance coverage each. Firefighters received help from Fair store management delivering rubber coats and caps.
