County Board in Session Deliberates Roads and Schools

The Board of County Commissioners meets in quarterly session with extensive work ahead on roads and schools. The treasurer James Lydon presents a quarter report showing receipts of 66,611.43 with cash on hand 34,830.38. warrants paid 46,821.25 and taxes distributed among districts and state. Proposals include road petitions, changes in Cahill road, and new school districts amid protests and resignations.

Mill owner Erickson predicts brisk log and lumber demand

FE Erickson, in town, reports his mill will operate on the 16th of this month but may end work anytime. He holds one million feet of logs and 600,000 feet of dry lumber with demand he expects to absorb before June 1. He is optimistic about selling every foot.
