Nez Perce Woman Visits City for Arm Amputation

Louise Pinkham Eneas of Lapwai, a Nez Perce woman and Carlisle alumna, is in the city for the amputation of her right arm after a severe cut caused blood poisoning. Nearby Forest indicates logging nearing completion with Ed Hawley holding about 800,000 feet and plan to saw from May 1, while Ed Feehay’s Mill Creek mill has close to a million feet prepared for the summer run.

Kamiah Townsite Land Purchase Effort Under Way

An attempt to buy 23 acres of heirship lands at Kamiah for a townsite is underway since James Stuart’s return from Washington. F F Pomeroy arranged the sale with Blackhawk and one sister signing, while the other heir seeks Stuart’s counsel.
