Old Northwest missionary Henry Spaulding honored with monument

The widow funds a marble monument for Rev Henry Spaulding a pioneer missionary to Nez Perces. Born Bath New York November 26 1793 he began the Nez Perces Mission in 1836 and died among his people at Lapwai August 17 1874 aged 70 years. A carved anchor Bible and cross adorn the slab signaling his devout life. The monument will be sent to Lanai for placement over his remains.
