Mott Celebration Showcases Western Dakota Pride
Last Friday and Saturday Mott hosted a gala with sunny weather drawing about 6,000 visitors from Bismarck, Mandan, Lemmon and rural areas. Events included barbecues street exhibits and baseball with a Mott band. An accident during balloon ascent left parachute failure and the aeronaut unconscious with injuries. The town plans continued growth with two railroads near completion and a potential village incorporation on Oct 9. New hotel on Main Street and dual riverfront depots mark a developing commerce scene.

New Stage Route Planned From Eagle Butte Westward
W E Lyman and H J Nichols of Caton S D plan a mobile service from Eagle Butte the Cheyenne branch temporary terminus. They ordered a new 1 passenger car arriving early next week to boost capacity. The route will run from Eagle Butte via Dupree Faith Edson Caton and Dunnebecke with connections at Caton to Bixby and at Dunnebecke to the Black Hills and Lemmon systems.
