Commercial Club Declines to Back Isabel Land Office Bid
The Commercial club met Monday to consider supporting Isabel as a U S land office candidate. It declined to favor any town but opposed further partition of the Lemmonland district. The club okayed using quarters for band practice two evenings weekly and appointed an auditing committee to check finances.

Wanted Some Easy Money and Hay Theft Scandal
Tuesday C N Cooper investigated a hay theft case with a blow in his eye. Haystacks showed signs of consumption, tracks pointed toward Stowers, and two loads were found to be westward bound in a wagon with narrow and wide tires. A confession emerged from the two parties, and affidavits implicated another man who fled last October, suspected in an $80 hay theft from Sheets and Corcoran, with an effort planned to bring him to trial. A Reeder choral society formed under JT Hirt, while a special train paused at Lemmon for a rail line inspection by officers including Pierson, Chief Bowmen, AL 4 Baker, KS Hall OOS Gian, J.P. Richards, Division, and Fred G. Hill.
