Pioneer Man Marshall H Jewell Dies in Bismarck at 10:25 PM
Marshall H. Jewell, a veteran Bismarck newspaper man and one of North Dakota’s early leaders, died at his home Friday evening February 1 after a long career chronicling Dakotas growth. Born near Hector New York, he moved to Bismarck over 52 years ago and guided the Jawell Press through much development before illness weakened him. He leaves two sons, Ralph and Paul, and was mourned by the community and state press alike.
