Washington delegates meet with success in Lemmon district

Washington delegates and Gov. Vessey secured support for embattled homestead claims in a Huron meeting attended by Govs Vessey and Burke, Senators Crawford and Cramble, Congressmen Burke and Martin, and united Lemmon commercial clubs. A lengthy resolution urged department action on land entries and conservation rules while noting past abuses and the need for prompt final certificates.

White Butte Hosts Commercial Club Smoker for Lemmon Men

A White Butte commercial club event drew about forty Lemmon businessmen in three autos for a social smoker at the Christen son and Johnson building. Guests heard addresses from local leaders, enjoyed a fine chicken banquet, and left with goodwill for White Butte’s budding future and rapid town development along the state line near Lemmon.
