Fair Opens At Opera House With Queen Attendee

The M I A Fair opened last night at the Opera House with the queen present amid cheering subjects. The event runs each afternoon and evening through Friday with decorated exhibits in nine departments including agriculture fruit and minerals, fish pond, culinary, dolls, ladies work, manufactures, flowers and art. A special musical program is set for each session and the Rebecca at the well booth and a gypsy fortune teller are expected to open tonight.

Fall Plowing for Gagar Beets and Soil Stock

Farmers are urged to fall plow beets deeply at three inches or more and harrow to form a loose soil layer to reduce evaporation. Apply well rotted manure, especially in dry Rocky Mountain areas, and plow twelve to fifteen inches if possible. If planting follows corn, clear stalks and harrow, and fall plowing is preferred for richer land.
