Narrow Escape On Baltimore Lake Route Accident

Last Monday near midnight an accident occurred on the Fairfield Branch of the Balt Lake Route from Lohi Junction to Toplift The Wirsbex line on the return trip. A loaded car carrying rock broke a brake rail causing a coach to roll off the embankment after being struck by several other cars. Thirteen people were aboard including J H Laboriots Robert Kinder and family and Mrs Zimmerman who suffered a dislocated shoulder. None of the injuries are expected to be serious according to Dr Blockey.

More Water For Lehi Plan Advances

An application is filed in the State Office for a highway to bring water from Utah Lake by pumps. H Gardner and A J Frans support the Commercial Chub project to reedicate feet of wanes ped out of Utah lake and erect pumps along the street to serve Lehi.

Watering plan eyed near City Park to boost acres

Estimates from BEngview L. C. Keleey of Salt Lake propose damming west of City Park at about 40 feet elevation to water 3,000 acres. Total cost about 46 thousand dollars with first year watering at 15 dollars per acre and maintenance at two cents per acre, offering a feasible route for additional water.

Hans Hammer death and funeral in Lehi Utah 1905

The obituary notes Hans Hammer born October 11 1820 in Bornholm Denmark died September 14 1905 aged 75 years 11 months 4 days. He joined the LDS Church in 1853 and moved to Utah in 1864 living in Salt Lake City then Lehi where he ran a peddling business and opened a store.

Obituary of Bro. Hamner of Lehi and family details

The aged Lehi elder Hamner engaged in stock trade, livery and hotel ventures, transferring business to his sons. He married Miss Anne Roose, had three surviving children, and after her death married Miss Christena L. Diega, with seven children total. He lived in the gospel, suffered illness, and passed away with surviving children listed as Ed Cox, Mrs. H. Ashton, George Hammer, Samuel Hammer, and Joseph Hammer.

Water supply drive to unite farmers and city

Citizens urged to join Commercial Club and Irrigation Company in financing a water pumping plant on the lake shore to irrigate about 3000 acres, transferring water rights to an independent company and benefiting farmers and the city. A public meeting is planned to organize and gather support.
