Alpine Quarterly Conference Held in Am Fork Opera House
The Alpine Quarterly Conference convened Sunday at the Am Fork Opera House with Pres J R Winder and Apostles Whitney Clinson present. Morning services featured the Am Fork third ward choir. afternoon talks included conversion to Mormonism and deity discussions. A large forenoon crowd filled the hall, while the afternoon attendance overflowed. The next conference is expected in Lehi and the M I A closed the day with a separate meeting at the new building.

Sugar Factory Notes Record Harvest and Innovations
Supt. Gardner reports sugar making progressing well with about half the crop harvested and an expected 100 000 tons of beets this year. The weather has been ideal and no damage to the crop. Gardner visited Provo and Dr Hooker and Manager J R Cutler also visited the factory. They with EB F Dyer plan to visit Payette Idaho to discuss a new factory there. Eugene Roberts and Angus Gibson have invented a machine to extract sugar from centrifugals, tested last week with first class results likely aiding sugar plants.
