Fireman McNellis Killed By Live Wire At Fire Scene

Kansas City May 12. James F McNellis foreman of No 4 truck was killed when a rear wall fell at the Newby Transfer and Storage building. A live electric wire, carried down from the roof, struck him as he and five others entered the debris. He plunged into live wires after contact and died. Two other firemen were severely shocked. McNellis’s face was burned by the wires.
