Body Of Young Man Is Brought Home
Irwin Booth a 19 year old son of Mr and Mrs Booth of the city was killed last Saturday afternoon while attempting to board a freight train on the Oregon Short Line about six miles south of Blackfoot Idaho. He was with Lloyd Duffin 15 of American Fork seeking work in Idaho and on their way north. They walked along the tracks as a freight train approached at about eighteen miles per hour and Booth missed the car and went under the wheels. The train passed over the body and severed it in two across the chest. A coroner s inquest found the trainmen blameless. The parents learned of the death by long distance telephone and American Fork was notified Sunday morning. Duffin and Booth had been close friends and hoped to see more of the world in Idaho and Canada.
