At the Commercial Club Board of Governors meeting held on New Year’s day Dr. R E Steele was elected a governor and named Chair man of the Manufacturing and New Industry committee. A social dance was planned at City Pavilion with Morgan Evans Chas Friel and Jas Mo Sirkhian on the organizing committee. Invitations will be issued and tickets priced at one dollar per couple. The event aims to be the social highlight of the season.

Mrs Jacksons Funeral Held for Englishborn 87 Year Old
The funeral of Mrs Mary Jackson, who died Friday, took place at the First Ward meeting house Sunday afternoon. Speakers included Bishop Andrew Field, Ruben Davis, Sr Elisha Davis, Win Southwick, Mrs A R Anderson, Mrs Margaret Davie and A R Anderson. She was born in England and eighty seven years old. Her husband died eighty years ago. She was mother to ten children and left 76 grandchildren 50 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.
