The Cash House of J A Wilson & Son marks twelve years in Lebanon as the largest dry goods store in the county. Despite a slow season, trade has risen over 20 percent while new goods arrive. The ad promises customers 30 to 50 percent savings daily and asserts the business is here to stay.
Local notes report cherries ripening and corn small but growing. Alex Taylor travels to Frankfort for work while Donavin's Tennesseeans plan a Thorntown concert on the 26th. On Tuesday evening Post Commander Jesse Neff and twenty comrades from Rich Mountain Post organized Lookout Post at Thorntown. The new post lists officers led by Post Commander F. M. Larimore and includes Senior Vice Joshua Vandewater Junior Vice J R Hawk and others who hosted visiting comrades.

Frank Rogers brakeman on a C L S & C freight train is fatally wounded at Stockwell Saturday night by a negro tramp trying to steal a ride. Rogers and partner McDole challenged the man who drew a revolver and fired. The attacker escaped and later shot at a farmer, his hat being perforated by a bullet.
The new time card for the C., 1, St.L. and OC line, RB, took effect last Sunday. It outlines updated schedules and shift changes for crews on the light rail route.
Chas F. B. Neal files in Boone Circuit Court a quo warranto suit against H M LaFollette over county superintendent records. The piece comments Frankfort’s booming status, claiming a population of 4392 and suggesting surrounding areas were included to grow the figure.

Last Sunday the county infirmary superintendent Mr N H Shoemaker marked his fifty first birthday with a surprise gathering. Forty five friends joined Mrs Shoemaker and her daughter for a dinner in the dining room despite bad weather. The Pioneer offers best wishes for many happy returns.
The cornet band has been reorganized listing Charles Fulion as leader and members Frank Bechtel Eb cornet C. O. Bachman bari tone Ed Wescott tenor Frank Coombe alto Ben F. Wren tuba Mose Brown bass drum and Chas B Hicks snare drum.
Judge J. C Suit from Clinton county attends court this week. Frank Gregory, Walter Gregory, and Will Hall reside at Cedar Lake. Gov. A. G. Porter, visiting the city, was hosted by A. C. Daily’s family and the editor. Dr. C. H. Smith returns from Cleveland after AMA session. Mrs. Jennie McKey travels to Fountain and Lay counties for a month with relatives. Mrs. Mattie Jackson visits her grandfather D. A. Caldwell and Lebanon kin with daughter Allie. James A. Nunn and Clara Justice Wheeler wed in Indianapolis. C. W. Oakes of Indianapolis, Ohio Farmers Insurance District Agent, visits. J. R. Anthony is local agent. D. A. Rice and family travel to Cleves, Ohio. Ed Hedges oversees ticket and telegraph in Mr. Rice’s absence. Bryant and Long run freight. Numerous marriages licensed. Henry Vannice attends State Normal School commencement in Terre Haute. daughters Mary and Clara graduate. Clara to teach in Wabash. Mary to teach in Lebanon. The Pioneer notes their preparation and success.
The Grand jury adjourned with two indictments. Commissioners adjourned after a busy session. David D. Boyd named Constable of Sugary Creek to fill a vacancy. A bridge over Brown's Wonder in Clinton township approved. New school district petition in Jefferson and Jackson townships rejected. Bridge over Goldsberry's branch on Lafayette and Indianapolis road ordered. Auditor to strike tax on James H. Cox from the duplicate. John H. Lewie awarded $165 for repairs and new three foot walk around the court house square. Infirmary and county jail deemed in good condition. Dr. W. E. Evert wins pauper practice for Perry township. Hardy & Hamilton for southern Marion precinct at $38. Licenses granted to Manna Bateman and others. Patrick Kirk denied. Constable power extended to New Brunswick Detective Association members. Sly act by Garner-Richey sign vandalized Tuesday night.
