A storm lashed the region with violent winds and heavy rainfall, accompanied by hail that damaged roofs and uprooted branches. Residents reported power outages and localized flooding as crews worked to restore utilities and clear debris. Local officials urged caution and monitored weather alerts.
A cloudburst drenched Lebanon on Friday afternoon, flooding streets from North Eighth to Ninth and inundating cellars and basements. The flood wrecked yards and damaged hotels, shops, and a mill area near the Quittapahilla, with water reaching second floors in places. Lightning struck buildings, but no serious injuries were reported as pumps operated through the night to clear water.

Schaefferstown May 25 Memorial Day plans are near completion with Camp 2 P O of A in charge and other orders assisting. Music from Schaefferstown residents, sermons by Rev G W Kehm and Charles T Hickerwell will precede cemetery exercises. A strawberry ice cream table will be held in the park under Camp 104 P O of A. Local sports results include Bennefferstown A A being defeated by Annville Juniors 8 to 0 in a rough game.
The funeral of Mrs. davab R. Kohr took place from her mother's Bethel residence on Sunday afternoon after services at the house the Bethel Union Sunday school sang Just As I Am Without One Plea. Interment followed at Salem Church. The remains rested in a white plain casket covered with an eiderdown blanket. The funeral was one of the largest in years. Deceased was ten years one month and ten days old and widely known. Bearers were Harry Emerich Charles Clemens Howard Kline and Frank Anspach. Mr and Mrs Clinton Bordner and daughter Juanella are visiting relatives here. Employees of the Bethel shirt works faced a week of layoff due to lack of work. Mrs Amanda Snyder spent a few days this week with friends and resides in town. Ralph J Manbeck and Harry Homan students at the Keystone State Normal School returned home Friday for a stay.

Thieves broke into W. S. Umberger’s premises on Hill Street Independent District on Wednesday night and carried away a load of lard dried meats and other provisions meant for Mr. Umberger’s store.
Harry Shelly of 249 South Tenth Street has returned to work after a week of confinement with a sprained back. He is one of the drivers for the U. S. Express Company and resumed duties.
