Col Jacob M Shenk, a retired Lebanon merchant, received the Kiwanis Club annual medal at a luncheon for his city service. An afternoon excursion was planned Wednesday by the Widows' Home family. Promptly at 2 30 P M the party started for Carlorilda via Washington under the personal supervision of Mrs D A Frantz. The cold weather did not deter the group as the trip moved on.
Agnew T. Dice, president of the Reading Company, leaves Philadelphia for a three day inspection tour over the Reading lines aboard a special train. The party travels through Reading, Tamaqua, Williamsport, Harrisburg, Newberry Junction, Bear Run Junction, St. Clair, Rutherford, then back to Reading and Philadelphia via Allentown and Bethlehem arriving at Reading Terminal at 2 30 tomorrow afternoon.
Members of the Centenary Methodist Episcopal church choir will be entertained at Yingst's hotel in Palmyra this evening by the committee. A fine turkey dinner will be served with all the side dishes. A program of short talks will be given by choir members.

A passerby saw one brother in a window with a shotgun. Police refused tear gas. authorities chose starvation out as last resort.
The Lions Club met at the Stratford to discuss a Saturday egg hunt in town stores with several thousand colored eggs and prizes for marked eggs. Ladies' Night was also planned for next Wednesday at the Hotel Welmer.
Special to News by Unite Press says middleweight champion Harry Greb was targeted by two young women in Pittsburgh. He was robbed of $25 in a dice game after a separate street ambush by four highwaymen last Sunday. Huck Meyers, saloonkeeper, reported the incident to the detective bureau. The women vanished without leaving names.
Special to News by United Prose Washington President Coolidge will send a message outlining subjects for the special session. Senate adjourned at noon until 2 PM to allow time for the message. Senate leaders await White House instructions and have not fixed the first order of business. Rumors persist that the world court plan of Harding and Hughes may be raised for consideration.
Lee Michaels driving one of Longs baker wagons had a morning scare at nine at the Ninth street crossing of the Reading railroad. An automobile braked to avoid the gates and skidded into the baker wagon. The horse was injured but not severely. the motorist's name was not released.
Four drivers faced fines this morning at the police court with three cited for speeding and one for disregarding a traffic signal at Eighth and Cumberland streets.
Miss Edith Kulp former nurse at the Lebanon Sanatorium has withdrawn from her work and accepted a night nurse position at the new Hershey Hospital. She is the daughter of Mr and Mrs Charles B Kulp of 331 Guilford Street and many friends wish her success in her new work.
Syracuse middleweight Young Fisher received his purse after a bout with Karry Greb in Scranton. A commission inquiry held up the money amid charges of statiegy during the fight. Fisher was exonerated and paid.
Dr Charles B Penrose died returning from a Florida trip and left a 1 million dollar estate to his son Boles Penrose and daughter Sara Van Pelt. Nurse Mary De Vinale, who cared for him during illness, was bequeathed 100000. Other trusted employees also received substantial gifts.
In New York today AT&T directors authorized raising the company's capital to 1.5 billion dollars, expanding financial capacity amid ongoing corporate development. The move signals strengthened funding for future operations and expansion plans.
Washington with over 4000 guests from Vice President Dawes to military and naval officials attended a charity inaugural ball. The Mayflower Hotel hosted the chic event with decorated lobbies as part of inauguration day ceremonies. the president and Mrs. Coolidge did not attend.

Lebanon's sixth automobile show begins with larger attendance than any prior opening day and night. The 33rd edition is billed as the biggest and best ever staged in Lebanon, with big and small cars, luxury sedans, and practical models from seventeen exhibitors. The event runs through Saturday night.
A. H. Beale of Hathaway Park retires as president of the Lebanon Iron Company amid the organization of the executive family. Howard Langstreth of Philadelphia becomes president, succeeding Beale, with W. Prat as vice president and John C. Brown remaining general manager. Beale will lead advisory efforts from Pittsburgh where he takes the presidency of A. M. Byers Can bie Iron.
Herman Gebhard and Gladys Maldeman were married in Hagerstown Maryland on Saturday night February 28. Friends and fellow workers held a surprise party at the bride’s home in Quentin Wednesday night to celebrate the wedding. The groom is said to be employed by the Annville Halmyra Electric Light Company.
