The seventh annual CE Sessions closed with a final gathering at St Mark's Church. Attendees from clergy and local organizations participated in closing prayers and reflections, marking the end of a weekend of lectures and discussions.
The seventh Lebanon county Christian Endeavor convention met at St Mark's Reformed Church with 244 delegates. Rev Alfred Waldo delivered a sermon on John 3 16 praising Christ like service and self sacrifice, while committees discussed state convention planning and Sabbath enforcement battles. Representative Bierman noted hospital and widows home funding pending governor approval.
The Lebanon county historical society met in the grand jury room at the courthouse with strong attendance. Rev H St Ranik of St Johns Reformed Church read a paper on the early history of St Johns Reformed Church Lebanon Pa. Col A Frank Seltzer, noted member of the Pennsylvania bar association, is expected at the annual meeting and banquet on Tuesday June 25 at Bedford Springs.
The Penryn Park season opens next week with a series of daytime outings across churches and clubs. Jonestown residents Baker E. A. Straud and J. F. Troxel took a pleasure drive to the Blue Mountains and on returning home recounted a daring experience. While walking, two copperhead snakes about three feet long approached from behind and attacked both men, who fended them off with clubs.

Rev Dr F L J Schantz elected president of the Pennsylvania and adjacent states ministerium. Born 1868 in Lehigh County, educated at Albemarle Academy, Franklin and Marshall, Gettysburg Theological Seminary, ordained 1858, long pastor at Frieden's Lutheran in this place since 1867. Active in Pennsylvania German society with writings on early Pennsylvania German pioneers.
The trustees of Camp 254 P C S of A instruct purchase of a handsome banner for use at the Harrisburg August parade. The roll shows 764 names with aim to reach 1,000 members, and drill work is emphasized as Sergt H P Martin leads twice weekly practices. Efforts focus on uniform attendance and state camp prizes, to make Camp 254 the best marching unit with strong material. A freight wreck on the C T railroad north of Bellaire derailed four cars after a broken axle on Saturday night.

The county commissioners and clerk Oscar G Klopp plan to study increased seating at Monument Park after heavy use this summer. A special officer will coordinate work and benches will be added soon. Also noted is a city residence for Mary Ellenberger, returning to Norwich connections, and the Doumayer Linlaw family moving to 204 Cheatnut Street after four years in New York and Allen Town.
During a Sunday morning service at Zion Lutheran church Jacob T. Nitraver of 152 North Enghth Street was overcome by sadness and removed to his home where he quickly recovered. The brief report notes the incident as a church disruption without lasting harm.
William Hershberger of the First ward was arrested after Miss Lydia Shaner identified him as the man who robbed her near her East Weldman Street home. The bankrupt estate of Tra & Wigley, represented by George B. Schook esq trustee, sold the homestead property in Richland on Saturday. Sobn Weirtes bought the homestead for 41 405 with the buyer’s amount replaced by a partial payment of 1000.25. George W. Wie nr and Chores PD Welrich attended. Attending funeral services were Rev. J. K. Knerr his wife and Miss fila Knerr of 408 Chestnut Street. Mrs George B Spohn sister of Mr Knerr died in a tragic car accident near Wellsport Carbon County last week.
