Four Bodies Recovered From New York Wreckage

New York June 20. Rescue teams recovered four bodies from a Bronx apartment building collapse. Three workers were found in a second floor section. twelve were injured as debris caused the seven story structure to fail. Search was hindered by debris but personnel remained unhurt. Variations on the cause emerged, including roof failure and upper floors collapsing onto lower levels.

Myerstown Evangelical Church Field Day and Scout News

Lazorick Marries Callen In St Marys Church

Helen Lazorick and Robert T Callen were married in a 9:15 am ceremony at St Marys Catholic Church. The bride, daughter of Mr and Mrs Stephen Lazorick, wore a white gown with long sleeves and a veil. Members of the Women’s Republican club of Lebanon county announce the annual picnic at Woods Creek park near Lickdale on Tuesday next year. Palmyra Board Elects New Sixth Grade Teacher

Palmyra June 29 Miss Christine Gruber of Annville was elected to teach sixth grade after Olive Remley resigned. Gruber a Lebanon Valley College grad, did additional work at Millersville State Teachers College. John R. Rehney was reelected school janitor for the coming year. Laneck Bros. won the contract for editing and wiring. Dr. Robert M. Olson opened a new office at 114 East Cherry Street. He is a graduate of George Washington Medical School and has interned at Union Memorial and Emergency Hospital Washington.

Manheim Fire Company Wins First Prize Parade Triumph

The Manheim Fire Company won the first prize of 188 at a west appearance parade during a county firemen’s association convention in Newmahstown. Ephrata Fire Company took second prize, Palmyra earned 100 for best appearing county company, with Independe nt Borough claiming third and New York winning a 50 award for distance. The Manheim marchers in blue trousers and red shirts earned a notable victory, echoing their earlier triumph in Christiana two weeks prior.
