The notice advertises the 15th Annual Exhibition of Garden Farm and Flower Seeds featuring about 250 kinds of Farm and Vegetable Seeds and a similar number of Flower Seeds. It lists Pedrick and Burpee varieties and offers Abersi terms with a 25¢ credit per $3 purchase on seed packs and ounces.
The Millcreek township Sunday schools plan their second convention in the Salem United Evangelical church at Newmanstown on the evening of June 21 1902. All Sunday schools are asked to be represented and interested individuals are invited. The program features talks on teaching preparation and class leadership by C E Hoffman Mrs W W Marburger Rev S B Hawk and others.
County Detective Sattazahn arrested Charles D. Matthews near Schaefferstown on assault and battery charges from his father in law Peter Hammer and wife Lizzie H. Matthews. In default of 400 dollars bail, Matthews was committed for a Saturday hearing at 2 o clock.
Hon James M Beck addressed Lebanon Valley College graduates at Annville with the ceremony led by President Roop. Prizes announced, new prizes provided by Mrs S L Brightbill and Maurice E Brightbill of Anville, and a gymnasium named Brightbill Gymnasium unveiled. Degrees conferred include Bachelor of Science and Arts and Master of Science with a long, formal program.
Trenry S. Kettering, a well known Annville resident, killed himself by hanging in his barn after days of odd behavior. Tobias Bomberger found the body, cut the rope, and Dr. Marshall declared death due to a dislocated spine. Survived by siblings and three children, the case sparked a large scene as coroners investigated.
The funeral for Miss Lillian Miller of Fredericksburg was conducted this morning at Klopp's church by Rev Samuel F Hartzel. Services followed at her home on East Weidnan with undertaker W H Steiner assisting. Also: Mrs Harry Noll's funeral was earlier held from her Mt Aetna area home at St John's union church in Kehrersburg with Rev Levi D Stainbaugh officiating.
J W Zug achieved six thousand one hundred eighty dollars at a Wednesday sale of 54 Virginia horses at the Wm Penn Hotel sale stables. Average price stood at 122 dollars with a top bid of 171 dollars.

Two young men graduate as Pennsylvania College awarded diplomas at Gettysburg on Wednesday. Martin S. Karmany of South Eighth Street and Menno Sharp are named among the graduates. Attending from this city were Mrs. D. M. Karmany, Mrs. Harry Sharp, and Mrs. Harvey Harter.
The board of pardons met in Harrisburg with all members present except Attorney General Elkin. Fourteen cases were reviewed but no action taken. The essays of Mrs Kilgards and free ae under sentence to be ing for murder, were ion.

Thomas Crommell alias George Clarence Washington, awaiting execution, tearfully bid farewell to his sister Mrs. Jennie Elsie of Burlington New Jersey. She visited from 11:05 to 1:55 escorted and promised to convey messages to friends and family. He spoke of guilt, forgiveness, and his hope in the New Jerusalem as he pressed her hand for one last time. She said burial costs fall to Sheriff Coppenhaver, as relatives are too poor to claim the body.
A Pinegrove case of jealousy and crime unfolds as Miss May DeWald, a nineteen year old engaged to William Hizer, is struck with red pepper and carbolic acid. Chief Zimmerman locates Thomas Neitzler in connection with the attack, but a Philadelphia detective transports him for trial. Private detectives probe while Miss DeWald plans justice and marriage far from Pinegrove.

Bertha Whitmer, daughter of John H. Whitmer of 24 East Guuf ford street, suffered a severe burn while ironing at Polk training school. The injury potentially affects several fingers, with the incident described as very serious.
Thieves entered the stable of Harry Longenecker near Annville on a Wednesday night and stole a pair of bay horses and a double seated carriage valued at about a thousand dollars. Details are scarce. A News representative later spoke with Longenecker, who said suspects were tracked to Bismarck and asked officers to pursue immediately.

Lebanon Valley College at Annville will raise fifty thousand dollars for campus needs. At Tuesday’s annual meeting $15000 has already been subscribed. Trustees re elected the faculty with a pay raise for a senior member. Enrollment reached 450, the largest in college history, with a strong outlook for next term. Class day exercises, a concert, and grade ceremonies followed by degree conferrals by President Roop and remarks from James M. Beck. The oratorical winner J Walter Espenshade received the $25 alumi prize. Hershey received honorable mention.
