Final details set for a flower show in Myerstown High School gymnasium this Saturday from 2 to 9 p m daylight saving time. Exhibits admitted 7 30 to 10 a m Saturday with rear gym entrance for space. No admission. Civic Club meets with Rev Chester Webber as guest speaker.
A quiet wedding occurred this afternoon at Rev. and Mrs. Adam Wengert’s residence in Jonestown. Minnie Louise Hazleton of Hayward Wisconsin and Gerald Wesche of Ashland Wisconsin were united in marriage by Rev. Briggs Dingman of Memphis Tennessee. Prof Earl Miller of Messian Lible college performed two solos. The ceremony was moved from Hayward due to a serious illness in the family.
Mr and Mrs James Fisher of 509 Mifflin Street celebrated their twenty third marriage anniversary on a Wednesday. The couple received many felicitations from friends and well wishes for many more years of happiness. Mr Fisher is a prominent firefighter and president of the Liberty fire company, and a former councilman.
Members of the C A R will present a Flag Day program Saturday afternoon in the last session of the season at Sunny Brook Farm. They will be guests of Misses Nancy and Elizabeth Sattazahn daughters of Lloyd Sattazahn.
Mr and Mrs J F Hanagen of 1534 Oak Street are celebrated for their tenth wedding anniversary. Mrs Hanagen was Irene Amberger and he is manager of the American store on Eighth Street. Miss Nancy Meyer and Mr Raymond Koch with Mr and Mrs Morris Meyer of the Meyer milling farm near Jonestown have been visiting, planning to travel to Pittsburgh and return to Annville next Wednesday to stay with Mrs Koch’s parents.
Shamokin Pa Today's report says hearings in the anthracite region are done and the special legislative commission will next hear workers and employers in the Lancaster Lebanon district on June 29. The meeting place will be announced later. The committee heard more child workers and learned firms raiders deducted expenses from workers pay. One witness said employees were forced to surrender part of their pay.
Vice President John S. Bashore of the Lebanon Chamber of Commerce heads the Retail Affairs Department and has called a meeting for 10 o'clock tomorrow morning at headquarters. The group will decide on final action regarding the community advertising project for the Lebanon trade area spanning parts of several neighboring counties. Members include Mark Arnold W E Cover William H Miller Frank S Haak R J Coleman Ira M Benneth W S Strassburg and George B Jacobs.
In White Plains New York Mrs Nanette Gude Bayne won restoration of 1600 a month alimony after presenting pig iron statistics to Justice Joseph Morschauser. Her divorce from Jasper Bayne five years earlier had reduced alimony to 750 dollars and the wife argued that current financial gains in iron and grain markets justify maintaining payments.
Schaefferstown prepares for the Lebanon County Firemen Association annual gathering with decorations in national colors. Blacksmith Robert Beamesderfer, parade committee chair, says at least fifteen visiting fire companies are expected to join the Saturday parade, drawing crowds from Lebanon and neighboring counties.
The Frederick Fuhrman Post 23 Veterans of Foreign Wars heads to the State Encampment in Allentown opening today. Members will join unofficial attendees, with the Ladies Drum Corps of the Richard Bechtel Auxiliary entering competitive drills in the parade Saturday. Delegation members include Herman Frick, John Wahl, Amos Byle, John Bomberger, Charles Stahley, Charles Miller, Fred Garrett, Roy Mountz, David Long, Waliee Hicks, Pas Shirk, Samuel Chadwick, Bob Reed, and William O'Donnell.
Anna Margaret Shalley presented six of her younger pupils in the second piano forte recital of the season at the studio 28 North 8th street on Wednesday evening. Fern Heffelfinger Jack Shalley Lorna Jane Spangler Pauline Darkes Wayne Fox and Marion Miller played compositions by Giettel Spaulding Shalley Mackregor Franke Curieg Massenet Lynes Leibetz and Davies.

Claude Walborn of 149 South Sixth Street, son of Ezra Walborn, is reported getting along nicely at home after treatment at Good Samaritan hospital for burns to the face and arms.
After months of investigation Richard Bach 28 is charged with the murder of 19 year old Rosas McCloskey whose body was found in Fairmount Park. Police say Bach confessed to stunning Denim Boyle 30 and slashing McCloskey with a hunting knife handle to prevent an outcry. Boyle was found injured near the park January 4 and later recovered.
Amy Mae Leitner, former Richland resident now in Harrisburg, will be the first graduate to receive a diploma at John Harris High School. As valedictorian she will deliver an address on The Modern School System Versus the System of Fifty Years Ago. Leitner plans to attend Albright College in September to study languages.

Nome residents wait anxiously for Jimmie Mattern the globe skimming airman overdue from Khabarovsk Siberia after a perilous 2400 mile ocean hop. The junk sale at the county jail included crippled slot machines, damaged suits, old copper, and a gasoline engine. Scrap bidders supplied $1381 for the lot, far below original costs, with one distillery raid item fetching only $10 despite a much higher value.
