Three Lebanon students graduate from Muhlenberg College with two achieving first honors and the other earning honors status. The ceremony highlighted academic excellence among the Lebanon community and noted the contributions of the graduates to campus life.
Muhlenberg College Allentown staged its fifty fifth commencement with 45 graduates. Ming Mabel Knecht of Allentown became the first woman to receive a degree by merit. Richard R. Gates delivered the valedictory and Raymond R. Green was salutatorian. The event honored local students from Lebanon and nearby towns. A $500,000 campaign for a greater Muhlenberg shows $360,900 raised so far.
Arrangements are being made for Flag Day by the Lebanon Lodge of Elks officers and members. The observance is a patriotic, impressive annual event with the usual Flag Day ritual and a patriotic address. The 8 o'clock open meeting on Monday invites lodge members and the public without prior notification.
The Annville Shooting Association will hold a practice shoot tomorrow at Harry Millard's private traps starting at 1 P.M. Everyone is welcome to try their luck at the flying targets.
Local obituary notes the death of Catharine Rami Wagner at Orangeville Illinois on June 4 in her eighty fifth year. She was born in South Lebanon township to Samuel Bainberger and married into the Wagon family, with survivors including a daughter and son living in Orangeville, a brother in Nevada, and sisters in California and Cleveland Ohio.
County commissioners Now and Gilbert with assistant clerk 1 Shark Beeshore visited Campbelltown in the afternoon to inspect ongoing work on the mighty road running through the place. The work progressing rapidly.
Love sparked by a war era condolence culminates in the marriage of Arthur L. Sherman and Katherine Stoever at Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity on Lehman Street. Sherman, from Lebanon, served in Bri tery C Field Artillery in France. Stoever’s family is also Lebanon-connected. The Rev. Charles Keim officiated, with Myrl Brighthill as bridesmaid and George Storver as best man. A reception followed at the bride’s home.

Miss Maude Bowman and Paul H. Peiffer will marry Sunday at 2 PM in Zion's United Evangelical Church. Ceremony by Horace L. Yeakel with no attendants. Peiffer, a veteran of trench artillery service, will reside at the bridegroom's home on Third Street after a weeklong wedding tour of western states.
