The Sylvanian Conference evangelical church leader delivered a laureate address at Lebanon hall on Thursday night. He urged originality as genius and warned against letting criticism dampen creativity while urging students to master their craft. The auditorium was near full as seniors and fans filled the seats. officers and friends of the class attended in pairs.

Albany reporters say Ed win C Pitts the Alabama lad released from Sing Sing was ruled ineligible today to play baseball in the minor leagues as an ex convict. The executive committee of the National Association of minor leagues made the decision and it likely sends the matter to Judge Kenesaw Mountain Landis for a final ruling on Pitts contract with Albany in the International League.
A local man detained by city police on drunk and disorderly complaints was released after spending a night in a city hall cell. He explained his situation to officers and was discharged from custody.
Salem Lutheran Church marked 175 years with a pageant at Salem chapel. Descendants of pioneer members shared episodes and portraits of George Steltz founder of Lebanon and Rev Muhleberg, first pastor. Impersonations included Gov Schilts and other early members. About thir ty members of the St Luke’s Girls Friendly senior club attended a lawn party Friday evening at Dolores Shaw Emerich’s home on Fifth Avenue and Walnut Street. Ruth Reboshi led pinochle, Anna Catherine Wagner led five hundred, Cora Morrette was low scorer, and Mrs John Simmons of Annville received a special gift. The event ended with a weiner and marshmallow toast around a large bonfire.
Dawson Hauck, son of Mr and Mrs Abel Hauck of 1251 Colebrook Road, turned fourteen on Saturday. Relatives and friends gave gifts and cards, a family birthday dinner was held, and a birthday cake was shared. He attends Lebanon High School.

Kenneth Deck 21 son of Mr and Mrs Edwin Deck of 101 South Fifth Ave died Sunday morning from injuries after a car accident on the Downingtown West Chester Pike near Downingtown. Federal inspectors from Harrisburg and Philadelphia along with Reading Railroad detectives and Lebannon police search for a missing registered mail sack valued at $800. The sack disappeared Friday morning between the 4 31 train baggage coach and the Lebanon post office. Officials say the bag was likely stolen in town after being accounted for on the train and handcar to the post office truck.
Russell Wise, 21, of Rexmont, a Bethlehem Steel Company laborer, sustained a badly injured left finger after a fall while marking ties. He received treatment at Good Samaritan Hospital and was referred to Dr. C Ray Bell Jr. for further care.
Two men were arrested by city police over the weekend on charges of panhandling and drunken and disorderly conduct. After a hearing before Henry W. Hamilton, Fifth Ward Alderman, they were committed to the county jail for ten days.

Pierce county Prosecuting Attorney Harry H. Johnston said the two alleged kidnapers of 9 year old George Weyerhaeuser, captured in Salt Lake City, will face trials in Tacoma in September and the death penalty will be demanded for all principals with no plea deal.
