Viaduct Opens as Northwestern Traction Links Crawfordsville
The steel viaduct over Vandalia railroad at Crawfordsville’s eastern edge opened for traffic. Motorman Clarence Hughes and Conductor Ira Campbell led the first car across at 7:15 PM. The 1500 to 1600 foot structure rises about fifty feet, runs from Pine and Pike to Englewood hilltop, and required compensation to affected property owners.

George Neese died at Central Insane Hospital where he had been treated. His remains were taken to his daughter Mrs. W F Sheets home. Funeral at ten o clock this morning with burial at Pleasant View. He was years old and had long lived in the neighborhood north of Zionsville.

Airship wreck at Fort Myer claims Liour Thomas and Selfridge
At Fort Myer yesterday an airship crash killed Lt Liour Thomas and Lt Selfridge of the Signal Corps. Orville Wright was injured but not fatally as the aeroplane toppled after a propeller blade broke, overturning during a world record flight. Selfridge died at the field hospital after the accident.

Go Carmel Traction Line Links Westfield Sheridan to Indianapolis
Indianaplis September 18. A long contemplated traction line to connect Westfield Sheridan and other towns with Indianapolis via Carmel now seems assured. A joint meeting of all interested towns will be held at Sheridan to consider finances and another meeting later at Westfield. The project is said to offer advantages with little cost.
