The Lebanon Chamber of Commerce launches a Come to Lebanon to Live campaign to attract at least fifty new families and fifty homes in the next year. A home-building program with local lenders and businesses will back the effort, alongside a publicity push and a prospect list of 2,000 to 2,500 names. Leaders urge civic cooperation and ask residents to submit five to ten names each to Mr. Huber at the Chamber office.

Tragedy Near Castle Shannon Claims Two Young Victims
In Pittsburgh on May 29, 1930, Raymond Winters, a 30 year old interurban conductor, killed 9 year old Luring Alexander Sabol and his 6 year old sister Kelen with rocks while the children held ice cream and candy near a creek in the woods. Detectives say Winters confessed to the crime, calling it a fit of insanity.

Memorial Day Parade Plans in Lebanon
Plans for the Memorial Day observance in Lebanon are nearly complete. A parade will form at 1:00 PM, featuring a drum corps led by William Hartgen with local drummers, followed by units including American Legion and Veterans groups and Scouts. Boys Use Compass to Find Park Treasures
The weekly Scout meeting of Troop One met in Lochinvar Hall at 7 30. After roll call and drills the boys went to the park where each patrol used a compass and directions to locate a hidden treasure. After the treasures were found the meeting closed with the Scout benediction.

Furniture Makers to Face Sherman Act Indictments
Chicago May 29 Between 800 and 350 furniture and refrigerator manufacturers nationwide will be indicted by a federal grand jury on Sherman anti trust charges. The action concludes months of Justice Department inquiry showing prices 100 to 800 percent higher than pre war levels despite other goods easing. Grand jury questioned firms for over a month with 2000 witnesses summoned and books seized to trace price maintenance.

Navy Heads Drive to Preserve Old Ship Constitution

H V Yocum sues Terre Haute Indianapolis&Eastern Traction Company in Boone circuit court seeking 10000 for injuries from January 27 1923 when a second interurban car collided with his as he rode a company car from Lebanon toward Indianapolis. Former teacher Mae Shannon dies in Indianapolis
Mae Shannon, a former Lebanon teacher and Crawfordsville matron, died today at 7 AM at Methodist Hospital Indianapolis from complications of diseases. Born in Shannondale, she was 51 and taught in Lebanon schools before serving as domestic science teacher at Lebanon High School. She later became matron of the Community House in Crawfordsville until poor health forced her resignation in January. Survived by sister Mrs. Lizzie Hopper of Crawfordsville and brothers Charles Shannon of Crawfordsville and Ed Shannon of Ladoga. Funeral arrangements pending.

School Boy Struck by Car Near Central School
Loral Downing a fourth grade pupil at Central school suffered facial lacerations and body bruises after being struck by a Ford coupe at East and Main streets. The driver stopped shortly after impact and carried the boy to Williams hospital. No blame assigned to the driver as speed was slow.

A new sanitary candy case has been installed in the Grandison 4-rue one op Store and is the latest design in equipment for attractively displaying confectionery. The base of the candy case is of breed used for storage. Sliding doors to this section are entirely dust proof. The display case is of plate glass and candies are exhibited in sanitary units.
