Bandits Take $8000 in Diamonds From Updike Car
Indianapolis May 13 two bandits robbed Edgar Updike owner of the Updike Automobile company of 8000 in diamonds last night as he drove into his yard. They choked him and drove away in his auto then dumped him at a city edge after taking a ring and stick pin. Police were nearby but the bandits escaped leaving Updike’s car abandoned.

Sheriff nets two on liquor charge near Zionsville
Sheriff Saunders and the Zionsville marshal arrested George Lohman of Zionsville and Donald Penrose of Clairmont after finding five gallons of white mule whiskey in a Ford coupe on the Michigan road near Zionsville yesterday morning. A search of the Lohman home yielded a gallon bottle with liquid under a floor compartment. Bonds were set at two thousand dollars each. both men were jailed in Lebanon. Local complaints of rising booze traffic and drunkenness spurred the quiet, ongoing investigation culminating in yesterday’s raid.

Galligan said he returned homesick and wished to resume his duties. he has more than a year to serve as chief law officer.
