Voters in Lebanon prepare for Tuesday primary with ten polling places and 6 am opening. Ballots are party specific with one ballot per voter, party officials may verify party requests, and absent ballots continued to arrive until polls close. Campaigns focus on Democrat Klan issue with heavy expected turnout. fair weather aids turnout. Australian ballot may delay final counts past midnight.
Frank C Myers travels to Indianapolis after the death of his brother N G Myers who died at his home in that city. Myers had been in ill health with heart trouble. Surviving are his widow and three children Dot of Spencer Royal and George of Miami. He leaves seven brothers and sisters including Frank Myers of Lebanon. Funeral arrangements not yet completed.
Belgrade May 4 Prince George elder brother of King Alexander of Serbia is insane and has been placed in an asylum under strict guard. Police raids on residences of Republican leaders connected with the prince heightened the seriousness of the situation as documents including memoirs of Prince George were seized.
A plea urging Lebanon voters to consider municipal needs over party and elect the most qualified men in the upcoming primary. It stresses honesty, capability, and service in November's general election and urges Democrats to nominate the best available and Republicans to vote for men with proven records.
Lafayette Indiana May 4 About 2500 boys and girls from across Indiana will gather for the seventh annual roundup of agriculture and home economics club members at Purdue University. Major delegations come from Richmond Marion Pendleton Albion Fort Wayne Evansville Pierceton Argos LaPorte Franklin Scottsburg Winamac and Waterloo. The four day event runs May 5 to May 8 with teams in corn judging live stock judging dairy cattle egg judging canning baking sewing and a new health contest. A Purdue Egg Show will also be featured alongside industrial and manual training events May 7 to 9.
A delegation of women from Lebanon M E Church will travel to Mulberry on Tuesday for the annual meeting of the Woman's Foreign Missionary Society of Crawfordsville District. Mrs. Monroe Bush presides and Lucile Clay sings. Locally attending are Mrs. Jack Edwards Ruth Morrow Lucile Clay Mrs. Clyde P. Harnhardt Miss Mable Martin Miss Beulah Peabody Mrs. Harry Lenox and Mrs. Monroe Bush.
Mr and Mrs Morrison hosted guests at the Yo.G event Sunday at the Ulen Rein Tub with Linda in attendance.
Leland Ross of Wabash college won the inter state oratorical contest at Evans ton Illinois among six contestants. Ross spoke on Blood Will Tell about heredity and led Wabash to its third final win in the territory. Indiana winners included Dr G L Mackintosh of Wabash in 1884 and ex Senator Albert J Beveridge for DePauw. Other ranking schools were Michigan Missouri Pennsylvania Nebraska and South Dakota. Ross is a Lebanon High School graduate and senior at Wabash active in campus life and a charter member of the Wabash Blue Key chapter.
In Minneapolis on May 4, three men died from poison liquor in a house where Wm. Maher hosted a party. James Castle, Edward Savage also died. a pint flask nearly empty on the table. Mauxie Wollman and Joseph Marron, 85, were among those detained as police investigated.
J T VanOrman aboard Goodyear II clinched the national elimination balloon race for the second straight time. He landed in Reform Alabama after a 600 mile air line flight from St Joseph Missouri where the race began. Captain H E Honeywell of St Joseph finished near Aberdeen Mississippi about 650 miles away. Other contestants landed at Selma Illinois Crenshaw Mississippi and in northern Arkansas.
Paul Moore fourteen son of Mr and Mrs L S Moore sustained life threatening injuries Friday afternoon while adjusting a running tractor. He was tossed by the master wheel and crushed by the tractor wheel causing a fractured skull and severe arm injuries. He is at Witham hospital and infection threatens recovery.
Miss Esther Stewart of Frankfort joins Miss Lucile Clay today for a social visit.
Lebanon voters will cast ballots Tuesday in the city primary election by ward. Ward One surveys at the court house, Ward Two in the U S W V room, Ward Three in the women's rest room, court house, and Ward Four at the City Building.
A Westminster Guild Circle organized by the Presbyterian Sunday School class taught by Mrs. Louis Sterling met at the Sterling home on North East street. Officers installed include Martha Jane Voris president and Dorothy Frank vice president with Mary Ruth Palmer secretary and Florence Hutchinson treasurer. Dr. Mary Van Nuys and others serve as patrons. Miss Alice L. Butler named for future mission study leadership in China.
Funeral services for Ashley Johnson aged 79 who died Thursday morning at the home of In gram Dye on Lebanon street were held today at 1 o'clock at the Friends church Dublin Indiana. The body was interred beside his father and mother in the cemetery.
Sheriff Saunders detained Jess H. Phelps in Oxford on a fraudulent check charge for 46 dollars issued to Leonard Evans. Phelps posted bond after payment default at an Oxford bank. George H. Bush was arrested by Crawfordsville police on a warrant accusing him of obtaining property by a check with intent to defraud. The January 6, 1925 check for 10.70 dollars was drawn on the Fiston National Bank to obtain a gray touring car from Thorntown dealer George Russell, with the bank not honoring the instrument. Bush posted bond for appearance.
Treacherous waters of the Mississippi near Muscatine Iowa claimed five lives when a picnic launch carrying nine overturned on a huge wave Sunday. The dead included Mr and Mrs Gus Dusenburry and their three children from Fairport Iowa. Survivors clung to the craft and were Mabel and Fern Dusenburry Art Snyder of Fairport and Howard Hartfield of Ock Island Illinois. The party was en route to Long Island for a river picnic.
Friends of Mrs. D. W. Foster, once a Lebanon resident, report she is seriously ill and has moved from Richmond, Indiana to her son’s home in Indianapolis for preparation for a surgical operation in the near future.
New York reports a seismograph record of an unusually strong earthquake about 7,700 miles away in the South Pacific. Ottawa records two shocks strong enough to dislodge the needle, with distances and directions undetermined. Italian seismologist Bendandi had predicted a May earthquake series starting May 4, with offshore shocks in the South Pacific.
Paris reports Riffian tribesmen advancing from the Spanish zone into central Morocco near Zrarka, about fifty kilometers northeast of Fez. France confirms light casualties and says operations will protect French territory rather than conquer, with Marshal Lyautey in Fez directing efforts to drive the Rifists back.
In Indianapolis on May 4, a motion to strike two of the four murder counts in the indictment against Stephenson former Klan leader and aides Earl Klenck and Earl Gentry was moved at arraignment. Judge Collins set May 9 for argument as the trio, in handcuffs, faced court amid a crowd.

The last Vesper service at the Presbyterian church until September was held Sunday afternoon with large attendance. A special musical program was performed by the quartet and Pastor Mr. Lamb spoke on The Man Who Made the Most of Himself.
In Crawfordsville Indiana nine individuals were bonded awaiting trial after weekend raids by the county prosecutor and two professional raiders from Herrin Illinois. Six faced gaming charges and three liquor law violations. The operation involved about 26 raiders, with few liquor finds, and some Klansmen noted among those in Montgonery County.
