William Crose about 60 years old died when his Ford coupe was struck by a northbound Big Four train near the serum plant station south of Thorntown. The impact crushed the skull, and the body rode the engine pilot to the station. Survived by his widow and son Captain Olus Crose of the U S Army in the Panama Canal zone. Coroner E A Rainey investigated. witnesses were the train crew.

Thirteen Year Old Boy Struck by Auto Near Dover
Clarence Stafford thirteen suffered critical injuries when struck along Crawfordsville road near Dover by a car driven by J Frank Miller of Muncie. He was taken to Witham hospital after the collision and his skull fracture and leg injury prompted concern for his recovery. Miller, questioned by police, said he was traveling west and saw the boy only after a hill. He pulled left, the boy jumped in front, the car went into a ditch then struck a telephone pole. Miller later left for Danville, Ill., with plans to return.
