Indianapolis March 21 The Red Cross relief fund for tornado survivors in southwestern Indiana and southern Illinois continues to grow with 6002 dollars raised before the day’s mail. Separate relief drives were under way in Kentucky and other parts of the state. Funds raised in those states will be sent to Indianapolis. William Fortune, chairman of the Indianapolis Red Cross chapter, left for St Louis for a conference on general relief work. A sympathy letter offering assistance to storm sufferers in Indiana was sent by Mayor Lew Shank to town boards of Owensboro Princeton Griffin and Eliza- to Indiana city leaders.

Buchanan resident of Kirklin R R 3 and Kirklin high school student hurt while practicing basketball at Kirklin high school. He slipped on the court, sprained and torn ligaments in the left leg, no bone fracture. Taken to Frankfort for X ray. treated and returned home.

Six Die As Traction Car Collides Near Carlinville
Carlinville Illinois March 21 six killed and thirteen injured in a south bound local passenger car striking a line repair car at Davis Siding five miles south of Carlinville. The wreck happened on a curve leading to a trestle over a deep gully. Five died instantly. one man died later at St Johns hospital Springfield. Victims include William Peele Staunton motorman Jeanie H Mienicke Gillespie Babe Shannon 13 Virden Henry Robinson 18 Carlinville and an unidentified man. A rigid investigation will start at once by Illinois Traction System officials to determine causes.

Action for Partition Filed at Frankfort
A petition asking the partition of real estate in Kirklin and Sugar Creek township Clinton county was filed in the Clinton circuit court yesterday by James Goar against Eli Goar Lou Goar and J W Goar. Each is the owner of an undivided fourth of the property and the petition asks that a commissioner be named by the court to sell the property and divide the proceeds.

Darlington Man Hurt in Motor Accident
Albert Cox a seventy six year old grain merchant of Darlington was hurt when struck by an automobile driven by LeRoy Jordan at Meridan and Washington streets in Indianapolis Thursday night. Lieutenant O D Thomas arrested Jordan on assault and battery and weapons charges after police found a revolver in the car. Two women accompanying Jordan fled the scene.

Fire destroys Central Indiana Railway repair shop
A morning blaze completely destroyed the Central Indiana Railway repair shop, tool shed, and sand house east of C Street, with an estimated loss of 5 000 dollars. An engine stored inside was run out before the building burned, origin undetermined though an electric wire or engine sparks were noted. Fire department delay and oil waste fueled rapid spread. no equipment or supplies were saved and nearby coal facilities were threatened but saved.
