Boone county residents gathered around radio sets to hear the national capital inaugural ceremony in Washington. The Marine Band played the president's march as the oath was read to President Coolidge and the inaugural address followed.
Helen N. King sues in Boone circuit court for divorce from George B. King. Married November 23 1922 and separated March 2 1925. She accuses cruel treatment and resides in Lebanon. Attorney Roy W. Adney represents her.
A full Hazelrigg Community House hosted the four act home talent production Out Where The West Begins last evening. The cast under Mrs Lawrence Arnsman drew praise and the show will be repeated Saturday night at Mechanicsburg.
City candidates for the May 5 primary may file notices with City Clerk William F. Smith starting Friday March 6, with declarations due by April 5 and withdrawals allowed April 5 to April 1. Only two mayoral candidates, Paul C. Taur and Elmer A. Brenton, have publicly declared. Nine city offices will be decided in November including mayor, clerk, treasurer and six councilmen.

In the Lebanon Elks Lodge No. 635 officers list Russell Chambers was mistakenly omitted. Mr Chambere was elected esteemed loyal knight, confirming his new role among the lodge leadership.
In Lebanon a masked bandit held up Roxana Petroleum manager James Witt at the Main and Park corner around 9 pm. Witt handed over about 50 dollars in receipts, the bandit thanked him, then vanished into an alley as police sought clues near Main Street and the city square.
Kansas City, March 5. Hog raisers in the middle west are using profits from 13 dollar hogs to fund farm improvements and home modernizations rather than luxury purchases. Livestock buyers say soaring pork prices keep growers out of coupon clipping class, with corn at 1.25 a bushel adding to costs and prompting plans for new corn planters and binders, lighting and heating. Those with ample corn and hogs are expanding to raise more hogs, corn, and wheat this year.
Indianapolis reports hog prices gaining another half dollar with 4000 hogs selling at 14.25, a record run since 1920. Chicago stockyards record quality hogs at 13.65, the highest in four years as brisk buying pushes up prices by about 26 to 4 cents.
Washington reports the international con artist known as the Spanish Prisoner has been jailed in Madrid ending a 55 year police hunt. Gen Ramon de Santa Clara, tied to the scam, swindled many Americans by posing as a bankrupt with a hidden fortune and a portmanteau secret pocket.
Bloomington announces the fourth annual Indiana high school wrestling meet on March 27 and 28. Indiana schools may enter teams or individual wrestlers across eight divisions from 100 pounds to heavyweight.
Proceedings in the Duree will dispute between Claude Duree and Catherine Duree began this morning and concluded this afternoon. Evidence-taking closed yesterday and the case will proceed to testimony this afternoon.
London reports Italian troops crossed the western border of Egypt and attacked a Bedouin caravan, killing 15 and taking the rest prisoner. Camels were killed or driven off. Egyptians bolster Sollum garrison. Egyptian sources say Senussi raids near Benghazi have killed eighty five Italian soldiers.
Two of the six men indicted by the Marion County grand jury on embezzlement and fraud larceny charges in the disposal of surplus war materials by the state highway commission remained at large. The other four were arrested and held on bonds of nine thousand dollars each. C. W. Whaley, a junk dealer, was expected to surrender and bond. George Bartley, former highway department garage superintendent, is in Florida. Bond was posted by John D. Williams, Earl Crawford, and Moses and Victor Goldberg. The indictments allege fraudulent conspiracy in the sale of department supplies.
Kansas City March 5 a booze ring was exposed by the seizure of a $20 000 freight car of choice liquors traced from St. Louis and the arrest of two men H F Tiegh and James C Griggs presidents of a commission house who denied knowledge of the shipment and could not explain how their business telephone number appeared on the bill of lading
A delegation of Legionaries from the Mooseheart Legion of Lebanon will visit Indianapolis Chapter No. 11 tonight. The Indianapolis chapter will conduct the work to a close.
Indiana lawmakers rally behind the Kissinger Road Ripper bill to abolish the state highway commission amid indictments of chairman John Williams and member Fair Crawford for alleged fraud. The probe was dropped after a Marion County grand jury handed up charges while records remain with the panel.
Paul Morris of Citizens Loan and Trust Company spoke to high school students during the regular weekly convocation. He stressed honesty and integrity in banking and highlighted the cashier as the key loan officer. The session closed with patriotic songs from newly purchased music slides for the city schools.

Williston and Casey teams prep to challenge Advance in the second game and Casey predicts strong showings.
Radio parts valued at about 00 were found in ice and snow along the old Thompson gravel pit near South East Street by Lebanon Telegraph Company workers. The items include a loud speaker three sets of headphones condensers and dials. They represent about a third of the loot stolen from Stevens Music Store early Sunday. Weather and rough handling have left many parts worthless. Police think the thieves abandoned the goods to avoid arrest. no suspects or clues yet.
In Milwaukee on March 5 a fire depicted in the film Through The Flames caused real smoke in the theater basement. A police officer controlled the crowd and prevented panic as patrons exited. The fire’s cause remained undetermined and damage described as taint.
Hopes of Republican aspirants for county superintendents were dashed when a bill to extend terms by two years was indefinitely postponed on the Senate education committee’s recommendation. The measure, introduced by Senator Barker of Thorntown, was pending by request.
Indianapolis March 5 By a margin of four votes the Indiana House killed the Kissinger blue Sunday Bill 48 to 44 for definite postponement. Debate raged as Senate action moved to approve a separate bill prohibiting obscene magazines.
Bellefontaine Ohio March 6 A siege at a ridge farm ends when Sheri Wooley and Logan County deputies overpower brothers Harry and Ray after they emerge from a pasture. The Wrens reportedly put up a stiff fight but surrendered when outnumbered. Deputies remained nearby after the clash, tending to the scene and securing the area.
