Miss Irene Wyatt a Jamestown girl found dead after drinking poison with friend Mrs Catherine Duzan 17 of Pittsboro unconscious in a park near Riverside. Coroner investigation underway as police search for missing youths and trace ties to Jamestown and Pittsboro.
A fair sized crowd greeted the McDowelle players Monday night at their initial engagement in a rural comedy titled My Jim. The performance was rendered in splendid style under a large tent at the corner of North and West streets, earning high praise from the audience. The cast delivered an effective portrayal and the humor connected with the rural setting, marking a highly pleasing opening for the weekstand repertoire company.
In a possible murder case near Jamestown three-ounce bottles of poison were found on the river bank. Miss Wyatt died and her body was taken to the city morgue as Coroner Durham notified relatives. A suspect, Mrs. Duran, lies in a hospital, with chances of a statement uncertain as arrests are expected if she recovers.
The City Band announces a concert on Wednesday evening July 1 with soloist Mrs Walter McDaniel. The program includes The Aviator Intermezzo Topeka Selection Operative Gems Mother Machree and The Ball medley plus Universal Peace and a march. The outdoor performance is on the east side of the square.

The couple will reside in Thorntown and are described as well known and well regarded.

First well water contained corrosive chemicals. second well drilled deeper to obtain a clean, strong flow.
Vern Lemon sustained a severe injury Monday afternoon when an iron file on the moving belt struck his leg at the Mechanicsburg saw mill. The blunt end penetrated flesh to the bone and carried fragments of clothing. Unsberkine dressed the wound and no infection was reported expected. Lemon previously suffered an accident at the mill about two years ago.
The Indestructible Wheel Works reports twelve men employed daily and growing business. They received orders for wheels from California and Toronto this week and are building a motor truck for a local furniture company. Annual vacation for workers starts August first, with the plant closed for a couple of weeks.
Excavations for the Colonial Theatre on North Lebanon Street by First Rural Loan Company have reached the stage of pouring cement for wall foundations. The work is being rushed with a target completion by September 1.
The funeral for Simpson B. Dickerson will be held at the residence 510 West Noble Street at 2 PM Thursday with Rev. S T Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill.
A Darlington to Crawfordville Review item reports a child was cut in the face at a Kirkpatrick neighborhood home. Wesley Boots, Indianapolis resident and former local, is linked to the family. Medical attention was rendered Saturday after the accident involving Gene Cook's daughter and the infant. The mother was briefly away at the time.
County Clerk James Gardner faced a wild scene when his home was besieged by a crowd of friends and food fries, and Mrs. Gardner plus daughter Miss Esther hosted a two course lunch while the celebrant returned late, finally understanding why he was kept downtown so long.

They married March 3, 1913, and Allen deserted her July 5, 1919. She seeks alimony and custody of their 9 year old son from a previous marriage.
London dispatch reports two militant suffragettes gained entry to Premier Asquith's Dowling Street residence using a phony appointment. A scuffle erupted as servants ejected them. police seized the pair who were fined ten dollars each. Fires in south London attributed to the suffragette arson squad caused over $100,000 in damage and homeless dozens. One woman carried a dogwhip and planned to lash the premier. the other, Miss Watson, has a lengthy police record.

Three suits to recover taxes alleged to have been erroneously paid for 1909 1910 1911 and 1912 were filed in the U S district court at Indianapolis Monday by the Indianapolis Street Railway Company the Indianapolis Northwestern Traction and the Terre Haute Traction and Light Co The suits of the first two are directed against Peter J Kruger collector of international revenue for the Indianapolis district and Elam H Neal his predecessor The Terre Haute company sues Isaac R for the same matter

Dr Guedal of Indianapolis will arrive this afternoon to perform a rib resection on Perry Riley who is in critical condition at his East Main Street home. Dr J A Ball will oversee the operation using nitrous oxide anesthesia. The physician, known in Lebanon and lecturer at Indiana Medical and Dental colleges, is credited with inventing a nitrous oxide machine popular in the medical field.
