Earl indicates this year's July 4th parade will be the largest in history with 110 units enrolled, 26 in competition. Six bands march the mile route from North East and East Washington to Meridian Street and For dice, with the reviewing stand at Meridian and Camp. The Hooks float from the Indianapolis parade will appear along with units from Montgomery and Hamilton Counties and 1,000 Shriners.

Whitestown Youth Rescued From Overturned Car Sunday
A 16 year old Whitestown area boy driving a 1965 Ford flipped on County Road 156 north of Whitestown and was pinned inside. He, injured in the back, was taken to Witham Memorial Hospital for observation. His 15 year old brother Brent, also in the car, was unhurt. Whitestown Troopers and Town Marshal Don Sorter assisted. no citations were issued.

Dr Russell Hardin will become president of the Lebanon Community School District Board at a special reorganization meeting. George Larr will be vice president, H Gene Etter the secretary, with Marvin Slagle stepping down after a year. Mrs Ralph Martin becomes the new board member replacing Kenneth Limp. Three Vehicles Burn In Weekend Fires Across Boone County
Weekend fires in Boone County damaged three vehicles and prompted multiple fire calls. A 1967 Ford Enonoline van driven by Preston Spears Lebanon from Noblesville burned east of Lebanon on SR 32 due to a ruptured gas line, about $50 damage. A 1969 Chevrolet driven by Charles W. Cochran near Thorntown had its gas tank overheated, total loss after Sugar Creek volunteers arrived. A 1962 Chevrolet driven by Bobby Joe Ashley in Lebanon at Noble and Indianapolis burned from a faulty carburetor, total loss. Firefighters warned homeowners that dry field conditions heighten risk when burning trash or debris.
