Plane Crash Kills Eight in Key West Navy Base
A twin engine Navy PBM patrol bomber crashed soon after takeoff at the Key West Naval seaplane base killing eight of the nine aboard. The aircraft cartwheeled, landed upside down in 12 feet of water. Seven men were trapped, two rescued, one died later. The survivor suffered minor shock and a broken sex. Officers and six enlisted men comprised the crew.
